1. Why choose a corner sofa ?
Corner Sofas, also known as L-Shaped Sofas, Modular Sofas or Sectionals have become increasingly popular in recent years due to their many benefits.
Corner Sofas are casual and informal and help create a home that is relaxing and inviting.
Corner Sofas are available in many shapes and sizes and can therefore be customised to make the best use of the space in your room.
They are perfect for large families or people who love entertaining guests as they provide lots of seating.
Corner Sofas are stylish and modern and can help define the seating area in a large open-plan space.
Many corner sofas are now available with recliners, adjustable headrests and inbuilt USB chargers.
2. How to Measure and Plan your Space
Size is important both in terms of getting your sofa into the room on delivery and also how appropriate the size and shape is in the context of the room.
You also need to consider how many people will use the space and therefore how many seats you need.
If possible, use masking tape or layout old newspapers to the size of the proposed sofa on the floor of your room. This will show you how much space the sofa will take, and also, how much space is left to move around and to open all doors and drawers.
For those that are not confident to do so themselves, we offer a space planning service. In this case, we ask you to provide us with a rough drawing of your room, showing the dimensions and location of windows, doors, TV, fireplace, etc. Based on the dimensions provided, we will complete a 2D / 3D drawing of the room, which we can use to demonstrate how different sofa sizes will look in the space.
3. Sofa Dimensions and Shapes
It is important that you understand the dimensions of a corner sofa, including the width of both sides, the depth of the seat on both sides, which can differ and the overall height of the sofa. In the example above, the dimensions would be shown as 298cm x 235cm x 108cm x 83cm.

Over the last few years, we have had the pleasure of being involved in a number of Dermot Bannon's Room to Improve projects.
We first got involved when Dermot and the show's interior designer, Karina Heaslip, called to our showroom to take a look at what we had on offer and to ask us if we would like to get involved with a project which was happening on our doorstep in Tramore, Co. Waterford.
